What the Assessment Looks at for External Wall Insulation

During a Home Energy Assessment carried out through Churchfield Home Services, we look beyond surface-level details.

The assessment reviews your home’s construction type, current insulation levels, heat loss patterns, ventilation, and long-term upgrade potential. This allows us to confirm whether External Wall Insulation — often called a home “wrap” — is the right solution, or whether another approach would deliver better results.

Can You Skip the Assessment and Still Get the Grant?

No. External Wall Insulation is not a standalone grant, and SEAI grant support is not available without a Home Energy Assessment.

Without the assessment:

• Grants cannot be approved
  
• Costs cannot be confirmed accurately
• The upgrade cannot proceed under the One Stop Shop

Any installer offering grant-supported External Wall Insulation without an assessment is not following the correct process.
