Your
Home Energy Assessment report is not just a technical document. It is a clear, whole-home picture of how your house performs today and what changes could improve comfort, efficiency, and long-term value.
At Churchfield Home Services, we design these reports to reduce confusion, not create it. Every section is there to help you make informed decisions — at your own pace.
What’s included in your report
Your report brings together everything observed during the assessment and explains it in a structured, easy-to-follow way. While every home is different, most reports include the same key sections.
Your BER rating — explained simply
The BER (Building Energy Rating) shows how energy-efficient your home is right now.
It runs from G (least efficient) to A1 (most efficient).
Your report explains:
- Your current BER rating
- What is influencing that rating
- How energy is being lost through the home
The
BER is a useful benchmark, but it is only one part of the story. The
real value comes from understanding why your home performs the way it
does.
How heat is lost in your home
This section breaks down where heat is escaping, such as:
- Walls
- Roof and attic
- Floors
- Windows and doors
- Ventilation and draughts
Instead of guesswork, you can clearly see which areas matter most for comfort and energy use.
Insulation, heating, and ventilation findings
Your assessor reviews the systems already in your home, including:
- Existing insulation levels
- Heating system type and controls
- Ventilation and airflow
The
report explains what is working well and where improvements may help.
This balanced view avoids unnecessary upgrades and focuses only on what
suits your home.
Recommended upgrades — in the right order
One of the most important parts of the report is the upgrade pathway.
Recommendations are prioritised in a logical sequence, often starting with fabric improvements before heating upgrades.
Each recommendation explains:
- What the upgrade involves
- Why it is recommended
- How it improves comfort and efficiency
- Whether it may support future upgrades
This helps you plan sensibly instead of rushing into decisions.
Grant information — clearly outlined
Your report also highlights which upgrades may be eligible for
SEAI grants,
where applicable. Grants are provided by Sustainable Energy Authority
of Ireland and are subject to eligibility and conditions.
Importantly,
the report does not promise outcomes or timelines. It gives you
accurate information so you can explore options with confidence.
