Cavity Wall Insulation
Peace of Mind
Save on your
Cavity wall insulation is an effective and efficient method of insulating your home, reducing heat loss through your walls by up to 30%. Cavity insulation is a layer of insulation which is pumped into the cavity of your walls and acts as a barrier, preventing the heat from escaping which leads to a more comfortable home and also lower heating bills.
Installing cavity insulation usually takes up to half a day and the occupants can remain in the house as works are being carried out.
- A series of small holes are bored into the external walls of your home.
- Cavity barriers are installed to prevent the fill entering cavities of adjacent properties.
- Air vents are sleeved.
- ECOBEAD insulation along with an adhesive is then pumped into the cavity using specialist equipment.
- Injection holes are filled with a colour matched mortar or render
- All audits and inspections are carried out to ensure the Churchfield high standard is met.
Cavity walls are built using 2 layers of bricks and/or blocks leaving a gap (cavity) inbetween. A cavity is typically 50-60mm wide and can be identified by:
1. Drilling small inspection holes in the mortar joints
2. Measuring depth of wall around a window (if 300mm+ means there is a high chance it is a cavity wall).
3. Inspect an exisiting vent to see if there are any physical signs of a cavity.
Solid Brick Wall
Solid block walls are made mainly of 1 brick or stone and have no gap inbetween layers. Solid block walls are typically 220-225mm thick. This type of wall cannot be pumped with cavity insulation and require either internal or external insulation to reach the desired heat retention.
Hollow Brick Wall
Hollow blocks are blocks with gaps/hollows in the middle and are approximately 18 inches long by 9 inches wide and 9 inches high. This type of wall cannot be pumped with cavity insulation and require either internal or external insulation to reach the desired heat retention.
If cavity wall insulation is not suitable for your home, We offer a full range of external wall insulation solutions.
A family owned business, Cantillana have been producing Premium Facade Systems since 1965. The Belgian based manufacturers established the Cantillana brand in 1875, followed by the production of Coloured Mineral Renders in 1911, Coloured Organic Renders in 1955 and began the production of External Wall Insulation Systems in 1965.Cantillana is best know as Belgian Quality with the European Know How.
Granol’therm Value has had a proven performance record for over 40 years. The system has been tested for years and has withstood all possible trials successfully. The Value system is the leading reference in the field of external wall insulation systems and has an outstanding price/quality ratio!
Powerwall’s external wall insulation systems comprises of easy to apply renders and leading makes and types of high quality insulation to conserve energy and restrict heat loss.
Powerwall’s System 3 is a light weight insulation system designed for use with modern acrylic renders. This system can be applied to virtually any substrate from masonry to calicum silicate board due to its extremely light weight build.
Powerwall’s System 1 is a mid-weight insulation system, predominently used with a dry-dash finish. This system can be used in both refurbishment of existing buildings or in new build projects.
High Impact Insulation
Using Powerwall’s unique Honeycomb panel, individually bonded to the insulation board, Powerwall’s System 4 was developed. Delivering a high impact resistance.

Polymer Resin Window Sills
Polymer resin sills give a similar look and feel to a concrete sill but with good flexibility capabilities. Supplied by Retrofit Sills, the polymer resin gives a category I impact resistance with low thermal conductivity (0.021 w/mk) which leads to reduced thermal bridging.
Polymer resin sills come in a range of finishes and can be painted to suit the exterior of your home.
Insulated GRC Window Sills
Insulated GRC oversills are the best solution for your home to reduce thermal bridging. Supplied by Intext Mouldings the oversills are formed with a mortar coating over EPS insulated board, the window sills have great flexibilty and insulation.
They look & feel like a concrete sills. Suitable for all dwellings, these sills can be painted to suit your home.
A popular choice with homeowners, the band reveal adds a thick, slightly petruding frame surrounding your window on the exterior wall.
